Sending Your Coffee Machine to Espresso Dreams
We understand that sending your coffee machine by courier can feel a little daunting. While Espresso Dreams can’t take responsibility for machines while they’re in transit, following the guidance below will help ensure your machine arrives with us as safely and securely as possible.
Taking a bit of extra care when packing and choosing the right courier can make all the difference.
Choosing a Courier
We strongly recommend using a trusted courier service and opting for adequate insurance cover to protect your machine during transit.
Please note that some couriers list coffee machines as restricted or prohibited items, so it’s important to check their terms carefully before booking. Many of our customers successfully use UPS, as they accept coffee machines and offer optional insurance cover, but you’re welcome to use any courier you’re comfortable with or use a comparison site such as Parcel Monkey.
What to include in the box
We don't need any non-essential accessories like portafilters or cleaning kits.
If you are sending a Sage machines we ask that you include the water tank, drip tray and bean hopper.
If you are sending a Delonghi we ask that you include all main body components such as grinds bin, drip tray, water tank and milk carafe/water spout (if you machine has one).
Packing Your Parcel
While most machines do arrive safely despite unconventional packing, we strongly advise that care and attention is taken when packing your parcel. Please remember that courier services tend not to be as kind to our parcels as we would want them to be. Sometimes boxes arrive to us with damage, so please make sure you've wrapped your machine with as much bubble wrap or other suitable cushion as possible.
Following the steps below and you will greatly reduce the risk...
Choosing the right box
The original manufacturer’s box, complete with polystyrene inserts, is ideal as it’s designed to support the machine correctly and prevent movement.
If you no longer have the original packaging, use a strong, double-walled cardboard box that closely fits the machine (approximately 40 × 40 × 40cm is usually suitable, but check this first).
Wrap the 3-pin plug separately in bubble wrap to prevent scratching or impact damage.
Protection and bubble wrap
Wrap the entire machine in high-quality bubble wrap, ensuring it is fully covered.
We recommend enough layers to wrap the machine at least twice, providing cushioning from all sides.
Once placed in the box, fill any remaining gaps with additional padding so the machine cannot move when the box is shaken.
Secure and Label Clearly
Seal the box securely using strong packing tape, reinforcing all seams.
Include your name and return address inside the box, as well as clearly written on the outside for the courier.
Mark the parcel as Fragile to alert handlers during transit using a note, sticker or specific tape.
In terms of weight we suggest allowing 15kg for a typical machine, allow 20kg for the Sage Oracle models.

What happens next?
Espresso Dreams will let you know once we have received your parcel.
Turn around time depends on how busy we are and the complexity of the service/repair and availability of parts, typically, we aim to get a machine service or repair completed within 1 week.
Once complete and invoices paid, we will ship your coffee machine back to you and you will receive a report of the work that has been carried out.
We provide a 12 month warranty on all work carried out.
